This site evaluation with my professor, Mike Rachwalski, was particularly exciting for me, as it was my first one to be conducted in person rather than through a screen. It was done somewhat differently than my other previous site evals as well, because I was accompanied with another classmate of mine. We both presented our patients to each other while Mike observed and gave us constructive feedback on our HPIs. We were then required to ask further questions about the patient and obtain information about imaging and lab values in order to start formulating a differential and then assessment and plan. I appreciated Mike’s clinical knowledge and input on how to develop a work-up plan for broad complaints like abdominal or chest pain. It will definitely help me clinically in the future.
